When you mention Mike Tyson you immediately think about his prime boxing days when he rules the ring and no boxer could get near to him. You also think about the ‘Hollyfield incident’ when Mike bites his ear. And finally, you think about the fiery personality of the heavyweight champion and what it did to him in the past.
We can all agree on one thing before starting. Mike Tyson is one of the best boxers in the history of the sport. His unbelievable strength, fearless stance, and amazing endurance help him get this nickname – The Baddest Man On The Planet. While his explosive personality helps him a lot when in the ring, it destroys him outside of it.
I’m A Recovering Drug Addict And Alcoholic – Mike Tyson Confesses His ‘Sins’
20 years after his retirement and he still manages to make the headlines with his involvement in some incidents. Most recently he puts light on him once again when he attacked a passenger sitting behind him on an airplane. Tyson punched him and left him swollen and with blue marks all over him because the passenger ‘molested’ him.
In an interview for Drink Champs, the Iron Mike regrets his actions and even makes a shocking confession.
“Even though they didn’t press charges, and I was right from a moral perspective, I shouldn’t have touched him.” – Tyson regrets this as he regrets most of his outages.
“I am a recovering drug addict and alcoholic.” – Tyson says. “I know a lot of great people. But they’re not good people. I want to be a good person.” – he finishes his confession with tears in his eyes.
It is this aggressive and short-fused character that he needs to thank for all of his success in the ring. But on the same side, it is this same attitude that he needs to blame for all his controversies, incidents, and falls.
In order to change this, he visits numerous programs, speaks highly, and amends his moral values and steadiness. He trains to be calm and not easily irritable, but with one small snap, the old Tyson comes on top once again. He doesn’t use this in his favor now, once his boxing days are over. Tyson gladly remembers the ‘golden days’ but claims that attitude-wise he is much better now.
“Now those days are gone, it’s empty, I’m nothing. I’m working on feeling the art of humility. I don’t want that person to go out, because if he goes out, hell comes with him.” – the baddest man states.
We hope that Tyson can tame this beast that lives in him and stop causing incidents once and for all.
Rumors state that he is to make one more exhibition fight in near future. He’ll stand once more against one of the actual boxing names and then retire for good. So maybe he can unleash his inner beast for one last time during the fight and lock him in for good after that.
