The 54-year-old podcaster is getting into many sensitive topics on his podcast. Joe Rogan does not hold back from talking about almost anything. He believes in freedom of speech and decides to tell it all as he believes it is, despite that whether it is the truth or just his view on the matter.
Or as he puts it in his words: “When I say something stupid, I’m not thinking about what I’m going to say before I say it. I’m not a doctor, I’m a fucking moron, and I’m a cage-fighting commentator who’s a dirty stand-up comedian… I’m not a respected source of information — even for me.”
Joe Rogan Is Scared Of Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO
Rogan has many controversial podcast episodes deleted from the platform and lives through several accusations for purposely sharing misinformation. Joe goes through accusations for purposely using racial words, and lastly, he continues his regular ‘podcasting’ without any bother on any of the above matters whatsoever.
He continues featuring many controversial people on the podcast and opens some really peculiar topics.
In a recent episode, he sits down with Jack Carr, a Navy SEAL, and book author. The duo talks about many topics amongst which, quantum mechanics and Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai. Not the CEO himself and his private life maybe, but more of like through the prism of Google and the magnitude of impact it has on everyday life. To be more precise, the impact it has on the sharing of information.
Even though the one, nor the other has any knowledge of any of the given topics they are elaborating and googling as they speak.
At one point, the name of the Google CEO and a photo of him come up on the screen that Joe’s co-host has control over. As soon as Joe looks at the photo he cannot help himself but react to it.
“That’s the Google guy. Be scared of that guy. Look at him. With this, I will run every loose finger. Class together.” – Joe Rogan says.
And obviously, he does not say to be afraid of him for his physical power. He is referring to the influence he has over general information sharing throughout the world.
Joe spoke about this on several occasions back on different podcast episodes. His biggest concern is that the platform has the power to decide what to censure and what not. They have the power to shut down complete websites, mute newsletters, and mute news media. Google can boost one information while suppressing another, etc. All this put together creates one communist-like environment where someone somewhere decides what you are going to see, what you are going to hear, what information you can share, what you cannot, etc. But most importantly they can decide for you, what is the truth and what is a lie.
Imagine all that being controlled mainly by this one guy Sundar Pichai.
Sundar Pichai is an Indian native, born in India, but transferred to the USA during his master studies at Stanford University and MBA from Wharton University in Pennsylvania. He joins Google back in 2004 and advances slowly but surely towards the top position in the company.
Now, after 18 years he is responsible for all the benefits and all drawbacks that you get from the search engine. What do you think? Is this censure and information sharing limitation on Google affecting us? Is it ethical?
