Kevin Spacey will reportedly come to the UK in order to defend himself against charges of sexually assaulting three men in the UK.
Kevin Spacey Will Voluntarily Appear In The UK To Answer His Sexual Assault Charges Involving Three Men-‘I Am Entitled To A Fair Trial’
According to reports, Spacey has made the decision to voluntarily appear so that he can put this to bed once and for all. He had recently been charged with four counts of sexual assault following accusations by three men which had apparently happened in 2005, 2008 and 2013.
And given that Spacey is also in a lawsuit against actor Anthony Rapp, who has also accused him of sexual misconduct, the actor cannot afford to let this go unanswered. After all, the authorities have already made their position on him quite clear.
Rosemary Ainslie, who happens to be the Head of the CPS Special Crime Division, previously said: “The CPS has authorised criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four counts of sexual assault against three men.”
With things looking damning, Spacey has responded to ensure that he is given a fair chance to have his voice heard. As a result, he came out to confirm that he is innocent and denies doing anything of the sort.
And the only way to prove such a thing would be to go to court and defend his name until the end. And that is what he intends to do going forward.
In an official statement, Spacey remarked: “I am entitled to a fair trial, and innocent until proven otherwise.
“While I am disappointed with their decision to move forward, I will voluntarily appear in the U.K. as soon as can be arranged and defend myself against these charges.”
The response from the fans on social media was mixed. While some people were outraged by the facts coming to light, others saw this as a case of an actor being cancelled.
One person wrote: “Kevin Spacey is innocent. All those young boys were looking for a paycheck. Cancel culture at it’s finest. FREE KEVIN SPACEY.”
