A Minnesota 8-year-old was hit in the mouth by a PE teacher after he didn’t put a hockey stick back correctly. Surveillance footage of the incident comes from Princeton Primary School and shows young Easton Johnson being admonished for putting the hockey stick in the wrong pile. The PE teacher, Kim Neubauer, would chuck the stick at his face, hitting him in the mouth, and knocking out a tooth. A young girl who saw the incident covered her mouth while Neubauer is impassive.

Easton would hold his bleeding mouth and bring the stick back before running off. The incident happened on March 28, 2022, and his parents weren’t told about what happened until some time afterward. The school took action two weeks following the attack and placed Neubauer on unpaid administrative leave until the end of the school year.
After the school year ended at the end of May 2022, the school stopped paying her and she just called it a day on her career as a PE coach.
The young boy’s parents are speaking out now because they feel the school didn’t do enough. His mother, Jodi Johnson told KRDO, “The school district, the principal, the nurse, nobody made a police report.” The whole thing goes from sad and infuriating to suspicious and infuriating as Neubauer’s release was publicly announced as a retirement. The school even gave her a congratulations post on Facebook—which was later taken down.
According to Jodi Johnson, Easton is nervous about going back to school mainly because of gym class:
“He’s very nervous about gym class, who teaches gym class, what do they do in that gym glass. It’s going to take quite a bit I think to get him to feel comfortable again.”
