All heavy metal fans and all lovers of the ‘hard’ music are aware that the most iconic singer on the metal scene of all time, Ozzy Osbourne went through a severe surgery several weeks ago. The surgery was said to be serious, but the metal legend recovers from it just fine.
The metal star experiments with all kinds of drugs throughout his life. It is a real miracle that he is still alive. According to experts, the number of drugs that he has taken in his past, and the dosage that he used would be fatal for any other human being. But Ozzy’s organism refuses to give up.
Ozzy Osbourne, The Prince Of Darkness Releases A Single, Weeks After Life-Threatening Surgery
It is as if the surgery did wonders for him, gave him a new chance in life and he is looking to take advantage of it. Weeks after the life-threatening surgery Ozzy is all set to release a new album. To hint about working on a new album, the 74 years old star released a single last Friday.
The title of the single is ‘Patient Number 9’, and as it happens, this will be the leading track of the upcoming album. Ozzy Osbourne is unique with the naming of the albums, and the dates that he releases them. So for this album, he chose to release it on the 9th of September. September is the 9th month of the year and the album’s name has a 9 in it. So he would release the album Patient Number 9 on the 9/9 or if you read it upside down, 6 6 6.
This comeback is going to be big. The album features Jeff Beck and the producer is Andrew Watt. Furthermore, we would have a chance to hear some big ‘rock’ names collaborating with Ozzy on the album. Some of them are Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and Red Hot Chilly Peppers drummer Chad Smith. Furthermore, Zakk Wylde, Metallica’s bassist Robert Trujillo, Duff McKagan, and maybe the greatest star of them all, Eric Clapton.
“The song is about a mental institution. Having someone like Jeff Beck play on my album is just incredible, a total honor. There’s no other guitar player that plays like him. His solo on ‘Patient Number 9’ is just jaw-dropping.” – Ozzy says about the title track.
Ozzy Osbourne has a ‘rocky’ career. Meaning he went back and forth collaborating with Black Sabbath and releasing solo albums. But until now it did not happen that some of the Black Sabbath members feature in one of his solo albums. Well, now after 50 years in the music, Tommy Iommi might his first-time appearance on his solo album. Tommy is the legendary guitarist that has a 50+ years career in Black Sabbath.
Even though Ozzy will live forever through his music, we wish him to live long enough to bless us with many more albums and songs.
