Prince William is desperate to come out on the right side of history after having spoken out against racism.

The Duke of Cambridge was recently on hand to discuss the problems that migrants had faced by touching on the hardship of the Windrush generation. This was the generation that come from the Caribbean and moved to the UK following the Second World War.
And after having worked in the UK and contributed to society, this generation had unfortunately been faced with threats of deportation.
This was on the alleged basis that many did not have official paperwork. And in an attempt to right the wrongs, it appears that William is taking the lead on this issue.
Dr Ed Owens, who happens to have written ‘Family Firm: Monarchy, Mass Media and the British Public, had this to say: “He is a ‘King-in-waiting’ who is clearly conscious of the need to appear as though he is on ‘the right side of history’.
“Recent polling shows that the monarchy urgently needs to build support among descendants of the Windrush generation.” Nevertheless, William’s stance has to be read in light of the following factors.
First of all, his recent Royal Caribbean tour with Kate Middleton was an absolute disaster. The couple were met with protests in the region, which left them feeling rather embarrassed to say the least.
Therefore, William’s comments could be seen as a way to curry favour. Secondly, given that Meghan Markle had accused someone in the Royal family of expressing reservations about her son Archie’s skin colour, William’s critics felt he should have been tackling things closer to home instead.
And this was reflected in the comments on social media. A certain subset of people called out William for a lack of sincerity. One person wrote: “He is going so far away from Diana and so close to how Chuckie acts.
“He was actively racist towards Meghan. Pay attention to your own house Willie,” while another person stated: “Yes, he watches his family being racist. Don’t like Meghan, she’s a genuine commoner, unlike that prima dona Duchess.”
