Prince William has been slammed after speaking out against the issue of racism.
Prince William LAMBASTED For His ‘Controversial’ Comments On Racism-‘Action Speaks Louder Than Words…Speak Up For Meghan’
William’s comments arrived on the back end of his appearance at the unveiling of a monument during his visit to London’s Waterloo Station.
During the course of that process, William spoke on how racism is still impacting members of the black community to this day. In his comments, he said: “Discrimination remains an all too familiar experience for Black men and women in Britain in 2022.”
And in order to show his support for tackling this problem, William was on hand to show off the following statue. In the pictures here, we can see that William is standing in front of the statue which shows a black family who represent Windrush Day.
This was designed to celebrate the contributions that migrants have made. William was joined by Kate Middleton and some other supporters.
Despite William and Kate’s support for such a thing, they were heavily criticised for the following reasons. First of all, Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey interview had highlighted allegations of racism that had occurred during her time in the Royal family.
The Duchess of Sussex alleged that someone within the Royal family had expressed reservations about her son Archie’s skin colour.
Secondly, if William and Kate were going to speak out about this issue, then it would have made much more sense to address things closer to home. And this was the sentiment being expressed on social media.
One person wrote: “Before he talks about racism action speaks louder than words. #PrinceWilliam should speak up for Meghan since day she got engaged to his brother there’s been unlined racism aim at her there’s evidence for all to see.
“Everything Royals do is PR stunt not genuine.” Ultimately, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not satisfied by the treatment they had received.
And if those claims do end up turning out to be true, then surely this is something that needs to be addressed by William. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
