Nikkita Lyons was the favourite to win the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament, but would go down with a poorly timed injury before she was able to claim the win. However, she’s already bounced back- and will return to NXT 2.0 here tonight. Is Lyons ready to roar again, or will she be thrust back onto the shelf. Her return opponent is none other than the NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose – so a win tonight could put her to the front of the line for a title shot.

Mandy Rose Reminds Everyone Just Why She Is Champion

With Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne in her corner, Rose was as confident as ever tonight. Lyons would manage two quick takedowns, before Rose would get some heavy strikes in the corner. Rose would be tossed across the ring twice, before taking refuge on the floor.

After a commercial break, these two would be brawling on the mat. Rose would have the upperhand as she worked on the previously injured left knee of Lyons. A strike would be blocked by Lyons, before she’d hit some heavy strikes. Rose would be grounded, before being chucked with a German Suplex.

Lyons would look for the superplex, but Rose would shove her down to the ring before the missile dropkick. Rose missed the running knee strike, before Toxic Attraction would swarm the ring and beat down Lyons. It was a three on one attack, until Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez made the save.

Cameron Grimes Comes Face To Face With Bron Breakker

At Great American Bash next week, Cameron Grimes will challenge Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship. He’s really put all his chips on the table, and tonight will meet with Breakker face to face ahead of this match. Breakker meanwhile is just trying to make sense of his role as champion, especially after Grimes accused him of only being given these chances due to having a Hall of Fame legacy to fall back on.

Breakker said that he’s had the honour of facing some incredible wrestlers, and knows that he will get pushed hard. Grimes is a man with nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Breakker would get told that if he loses the belt, he’d probably just find himself with a top spot on Summerslam.

Meanwhile, if Grimes loses – he’s got no backup plan. Breakker is living his backup plan, as he was unable to get into the NFL. So he called his dad, and got himself into WWE instead. Breakker would threaten to break Grimes in half next week, while Grimes says he’d still get up. Grimes would say that Breakker doesn’t have the heart that he brings, and it’s not fault – it’s genetic. The reason Rick Steiner was never World Champion is that he just lacked heart.

Breakker tried to attack Grimes, but would run into the ring post and break it. Potentially, Breakker broke his arm – and Grimes now knows he’s not facing a 100% champion.
