Last week on AEW Rampage, Lee Moriarty challenged Jonathan Gresham for the ROH World Championship – and if Gresham had fought with honour, Moriarty might have been able to come out with the win. Instead, Gresham would bend the rules to claim the win – and tonight, Moriarty has a fair fight on his hands. He will be taking on another man who is mentored by Matt Sydal, one half of the Top Flight tag team – Dante Martin.

Lee Moriarty Cheats To Get A Big Win

Moriarty would kick things off with a mat return, before going after the arm of Dante. He’d move into a cravate, and Dante tried to fight free – before Moriarty would grab the wrist again. Dante would trip him up, and get the cradle pin for a two count, before a headscissor takedown for a two count.

Moriarty would be sent down to the floor, and Dante would think about the dive – but allowed his opponent to get back into the ring. Dante would grab a side headlock takeover, blocking an attempt at a leg pick. Moriarty would gain control and hit the Northern Lights Suplex – getting a two count.

Dante would get taken down to the mat once again, before action was broken up with a commercial break. Moriarty had went to the top rope, and was taken down hard with a hurricanrana. Stokely Hathaway would make his way to the ringside area, a man who has been getting in the ear of Moriarty lately.

A crossbody splash from Dante would get a two count before Moriarty would be able to apply the Border City Stretch. Dante found the bottom rope, and hit a Half Nelson Slam – getting a near fall. Nose Dive would fail, and Moriarty got a roll up with an armful of the ropes for the win.

Sydal would call Moriarty out for being desperate enough to take the low road. Next week – Matt Sydal returns to action to face Lee Moriarty! On his way up the ramp, Lee wouldn’t take the business card of Hathaway – but looked more interested.

Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter Claim First Tag Team Win

When it comes to female tag teams in AEW, you don’t get much better on paper than Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter. However, they have never claimed a tag team win together. They have set their sights on Thunder Rosa & Toni Storm, and tonight have a tune up match – as they face the duo of Skye Blue and Ashley Amboise, and look to claim that first win.

Baker would kick things off alongside Blue, and would hit an elbow to the jaw – before tagging Hayter in. Blue would be kept in the corner, but avoided a strike from Hayter. Baker got the blind tag, and hit the dragon whip neckbreaker off the apron. Back in the ring, Blue threw a kick and connected with the jaw.

Amboise would throw strikes with Hayter, but missed a neckbreaker and took a big boot to the face. Baker hit a ripcord elbow, and Hayter nailed the chokebreaker. Hayter would tag out to Baker, who hit a butterfly suplex, Hayter hit the blindside lariat – and Lockjaw claimed the win.

Can Hayter & Baker defeat Rosa & Storm? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
