Kate Middleton has been slammed for failing to wear a mask during her visit to Wimbledon last year.
Anti-Masker Kate Middleton Slammed For Turning Up To Wimbledon Without Mask-‘It’s One Rule For Them, Another Rule For The Rest Of Us’
Kate is known to be a keen tennis player and often makes a visit to Wimbledon every year as part of her royal duties.
While tennis is the primary source of concern at the tournament, it appears that the manner in which she conducted herself did not go down very well.
During the course of her appearance, Kate happened to be sitting alongside none other than former British tennis player Tim Henman.
However, they were both not wearing any masks, despite the ball boys and girls allegedly having been made to do so. And it was that double standard that did not sit very well with the observers.
Radio presenter Julia Hartley-Brewer at the time stated the following: “All the rich people are happily enjoying Wimbledon without wearing masks while the staff and the ball girls and boys are forced to cover their faces.
“Once again, it’s one rule for them, another rule for the rest of us. End this insanity now.” In addition, The Duchess of Cambridge’s conduct prior to this was also questioned.
She had spoken about how the medical profession had been instrumental in going out of their way in order to ensure that people had the best care during the pandemic.
And yet, the fact that Kate failed to put on a simple mask did not come across well in light of what others were expected to do. This is irrespective of whether you agree with the mask mandates or not.
The fans on social media slammed Kate’s previous behaviour over her policy towards masks. A certain subset of people felt she and Prince William were showing a lack of respect.
One person wrote: “Why are #PrinceWilliam & Kate Middleton the ONLY ONES refusing to wear masks? Not only do they invite themselves to this country, they show disrespect by being the ONLY ONES that are without a mask.”
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
