Travis Scott has been slammed by the family of the Astroworld victims for stopping one of his concerts on safety grounds.
Astroworld Attorney Calls Out Travis Scott’s Double Standards As Rapper Stops Concert-‘Don’t Prove The Rapper Is Compassionate’
This was the very precise thing that Travis had been accused of not doing at Astroworld, which led to the reported death of 10 people as well as many others injured.
But during the course of his concert over the 4th of July weekend at Coney Island, Travis showed another side to him. In the video here, we can see that Travis is performing in front of a huge crowd.
They are all having a very good time, but Travis stops the concert in order to make sure that everything in the crowd is in order. And yet, this did not go down very well.
According to TMZ, Alex Hilliard (who happens to be an attorney representing the family of one deceased member Ezra Blount), had this to say: “Scott’s actions at the July 4 Coney Island show don’t prove the rapper is compassionate.
“If anything, it depicts the exact opposite.” These comments indicate that Travis did have the power to intervene at Astroworld, but simply refused to exercise it.
Nevertheless, that will always leave Travis with a Catch-22. First of all, in order to redeem himself, he will have to be extra vigilant which could include stopping concerts if there are safety concerns.
Secondly, even if he does stop concerts, he will always be called out over his failure to act at Astroworld. And that is precisely what Alex continued to do.
He stated: “There are 10 people that would still be alive today, including young Ezra Blount, if Travis realized his responsibility as an artist goes further than just trying to rile up his crowds.'”
It is fair to say it will be very difficult for Travis to be accepted back into the public arena. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
