Jerry Harris, known for starring on “Cheer” has been ordered to register as a sex offender.
Jerry Harris Ordered To Register As A Sex Offender-‘I Am Ashamed’
This arrives on the back end of his 12-year sentence for sex crimes. And as part of that process, Jerry is also obligated to undertake a sex offender program that provides treatment in this regard.
Not only that, but Harris will also be expected to undertake a mental health program. This will have the impact of Harris signing up for any medication that is recommended for him.
And given that he had pleaded guilty to the offence, it was not surprising that there were these additional requirements placed upon him.
In his statement at the time, Harris stated the following: “I am ashamed as I know that I took advantage of your youth and weakness. I was wrong and selfish. I caused you harm and I do not blame anyone.”
His actions have damaged his reputation extensively and not just within the eyes of the public domain. His peers have also been left hugely disappointed by the news and none more so than his Cheer coach Monica Aldama.
She was taken aback by the news for the following reasons. First of all, it was the last thing that she expected to see since she had gotten to know him over an extensive period.
Secondly, it also turns out that Jerry had written to her in order to express his desire at becoming a speaker to inspire the next generation.
In some former comments, she remarked: “I want to be supportive. Yet I’m so disappointed…I have all these emotions that are just fighting each other.”
In reality, even the most ardent of Jerry supporters could not argue with the decision handed down. After all, he did admit liability and therefore will have to accept the consequences that come with that.
