Amber Heard has been a victim of online ridicule since the defamation trial against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp started. Hollywood actress, Evan Rachel Wood, who might be dealing with something similar, has shown what might seem like support for the Aquaman actress.

Evan Rachel Wood is also in a legal dispute against her former fiancé, Marilyn Mason who is also a friend of Johnny Depp. Wood started dating Mason when she was 18, the two got engaged some years later but broke it off before they could make it to the Altar. On February 1, 2021, Woods made a public claim against Mason, whose real name is Brain Warner. She stated that she had been “horrifically abused for years” and she was “brainwashed and manipulated by him.” About 16 women have come forward to make similar allegations against Manson.

Speaking to Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, Wood spoke about her documentary, Phoenix Rising by HBO production team documenting the alleged abuse. Knowing the public attention that her action and consequently the lawsuit against her former fiancé will bring, Wood appears to be ready, she also stated that she was not “scared” of the law action because she expected Mason to sue.
The Westworld actress has shared an article that claims that the campaign against Amber Heard that has become quite famous online is “straight-up cyberbullying.” The article reports that what they observed was “one of the worst cases of cyberbullying and cyberstalking by a group of Twitter accounts” that they have ever seen. It added that about 627 accounts were created for that sole purpose—to bully Heard and her supporters.
The abuse and targeted harassment continued well after the Depp vs. Heard trial ended, and unless Twitter takes action, the abuse and targeted harassment will still continue,” the report added. It is expected that being another public defamation trial, Woods might face the same scrutiny as Heard did. Hence, sharing the article looked like she was supporting Amber since she faces a similar situation now.
