Dr. Kevin O’Connor tells the news that President Joe Biden is all of a sudden positive on Covid 19 again, after passing treatment and recovery time. According to the presidential physician, this is likely a rebound of the positivity that is rarely occurring in patients treated with Paxlovid.
On the lucky side, President Biden does not feel any symptoms anymore and ‘continues to feel well’. Dr. O’Connor says that because he is asymptomatic now, the therapy will not be resumed.
Joe Biden Tests Positive For Covid 19 Again
According to the physician, the President tested negative on Tuesday evening, up until Friday. He was negative for four days before the infection re-emerged on Saturday. “However, given his positive antigen test, he will reinitiate strict isolation procedures.” – the doctor states.
While it likely is a rebound of the infection, it can also be re-infection from someone at the White House. President Joe Biden stopped his isolation on Wednesday, right after testing negative. Since then, he met with numerous people within the White House and had close contact with many of them.
Now again, Biden is looking at a week of isolation in the White House. He cancels his plans to return to his home and reunite with his wife, the first lady, Jill Biden. The plan was that he gives a speech on the recently passed bill for boosting semiconductor production in the area.
“Folks, today I tested positive for COVID again.” – Biden tweeted after receiving the bad news. “This happens with a small minority of folks. I’ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate myself for the safety of everyone around me. I’m still at work, and will be back on the road soon.”
The press secretary for the White House, Karine Jean-Pierre confirms that the President is “asymptomatic, feeling great, and continues to work from isolation to protect others.”
President Joe Biden first tested positive on July 21st. Since then he had been in isolation and under therapy. Luckily he passed the infection with no major complications. Now, according to the White House physician, he expects to pass this phase with even lesser symptoms, if not without symptoms at all.
The first lady Jill Biden remains in the presidential home in Delaware and has no plans on going to the White House until Joe Biden tests negative again. She has been at home ever since Joe Biden tested positive.
President Joe Biden has a full vaccination certificate including two boosters. He received both vaccines and the booster from Pfizer, the company that produces Paxlovid, the drug he was treated with during his days being positive.
