For the past year, AEW fans have been curious about what has become of ‘Superbad’ Kip Sabian. Following the Arcade Anarchy match alongside Miro against Best Friends, he’d be written off TV by a furious Miro. This was to allow him to take time to heal up some injuries, but he’s been on AEW TV for the past few months.
You’ve likely seen him in the front row of shows, albeit wearing a cardboard box on his head. Written on this box were phrases like “Underrated” and “Over it”. He’s been watching everyone’s moves, and clapping in a slow manner – all right in the view of fans. However last night during an indy show, he would take the box off – and return to the ring.
Kip Sabian Is Ready To Return To The Ring
Photos of Sabian in his gear ahead of a match with Robbie X, while holding the box, surfaced online last night. While this moment might have been better on AEW TV, the common consensus with fans is that this to allow Sabian to ensure he’s in peak ring shape ahead of his return to AEW. Sabian is someone who is young, has a great look, and has proven his wrestling skills in the ring.
He’s almost a forgotten pillar of the company, coming in at the same time as MJF, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, and Jungle Boy – but never getting the same level of hype. All he’s lacking is the correct character, but he could well be on his way to doing this. Sabian might be a perfect fit to work on the Ring of Honour brand, which some are assuming will work as an developmental system for AEW, with it now being owned by Tony Khan.
We will hopefully get some indication on the future of Sabian in AEW, especially as they can tend to drag their feet with returns of talents – as they wait for the exact perfect moment.
