Meghan Markle’s entitled behavior did not go unnoticed by patrons at Locanda Verde restaurant in New York City this past Monday night when she was dining out with Prince Harry. Onlookers described the way she conducts herself as like ‘a princess’ and insisted that her list of demands were seemingly endless.
The first aspect of Meghan’s dinner etiquette that stood out was when she requested a private dining space that would normally seat many paying customers. “[She] asked the people at Locanda Verde to have the entire inner outdoor courtyard – which seats 50 – for herself and four people, including Prince Harry,” said a source.

But the room had already been booked and Meghan was unable to secure the ideal dinner location. “The owners told her it had been reserved for a birthday party for 15 people and refused to bounce the party out of the space … they told her she’d need to sit inside, which she did.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were forced to cohabitate with everyone else inside the establishment, though they were kept safe “lots and lots of security all throughout the restaurant,” revealed the insider. “[They were] seated in the middle of the busy restaurant,” and did not get the royal treatment they had been hoping for. The source also revealed that Meghan and Harry’s security team informed other people enjoying dinner that they would be asked to leave if they tried to snap any photos of the former royals.
While reps for the restaurant wisely refused to comment on the evening, a separate source attempted to downplay Markle’s diva-esque behavior by saying that she merely “requested a specific table in the dining room.” Other sources doing damage-control for Markle’s image insisted that the famous couple were more than cordial and that she even approached a patron who was celebrating a birthday.
“There was a random birthday celebration at the table next to theirs. Meghan went up to them with Harry and said, ‘I wish you the happiest birthday,’ to the table next to her. They were all dumbfounded and just said, ‘Thank you so much,” said the source.
The Duke and Duchess were in New York to attend the UN’s headquarters in honor of Nelson Mandela Day. Before enjoying a fancy night out on the town, Harry delivered a polarizing keynote speech at the event where he slammed US policies and called the overturning of Roe v Wade a ‘global assault on democracy and freedom’.
