Tom Lawlor has had a bit of time to strategize, as he is the smaller man in the A-Block this year. Kicking off against Lance Archer, who is pissed after a count out loss to Bad Luck Fale also does little to help his case. Lawlor has a background in MMA, and might be keen on cutting monsters down to the mat and taping them out.
A year as STRONG Openweight Champion proved that Lawlor can defeat anyone, but The Murderhawk Monster is built differently to most men. Add in Royce Isaacs in the corner of Lawlor tonight, and this one could get very interesting.
Lance Archer Throws The Heaviest Of Strikes
Archer would tease taking his pants off as Lawlor ripped off the over-jorts, but decided to not expose himself. Lawlor would try to lock up with Archer, before being tossed into the corner. Archer would block the drop toehold, before tossing Lawlor across the ring with the hip toss. Lawlor would throw strikes with Archer, quickly learning this was a mistake.
Archer would nail The Pounce, sending Lawlor to the floor before slinging him into the barricade. Backdrop onto the apron would follow, before Archer kept the pressure on in the ring with some running splashes into the corner. Lawlor would get the drop-toehold before some jabs in the corner, before being sent halfway across the ring with a lariat.
Some mounted open palm strikes from Archer would follow, before looking for the ripcord chokeslam. Lawlor dodged and dropkicked the knee, before grabbing the front choke, moving into the kimura lock. Archer would move to the floor, and Lawlor would flow into another hold. Hammer & Anvil elbows would follow, before Archer nailed the big boot.
Tom Lawlor Makes The Mistake Ahead Of A Blackout
Lawlor would take Archer to the mat and get the extension on a cross armbreaker. He’d slip free, before having his shoulders forced to the mat for a two count. Archer would absorb some forearm smashes, before another pounce attempt – with Lawlor grabbing a chokehold – but ending up in the ropes.
Lawlor would nail the knee strikes to the face of Archer, before being chokeslammed onto Isaacs at ringside after taking a moment to pose. Chokeslam in the ring would get a two count, before Archer would call for the EBD Claw.
Lawlor would manage a spinebuster on Archer as a counter, getting a two count. Nasty Knee On The Brain would be set, before Archer blocked. Rear Naked Choke would be applied, but Archer blocked by slamming back into the mat. Kick in the head would be followed by a failed choke attempt, before ending up in the Blackout for the finish.
