We’re taking another trip to Oklahoma where a man was arrested after trying to rob a corner store and then attempting to escape on a city bus.
Oklahoma Man Fails in Corner Store Robbery and in Escape Via City Bus
Oscar Garcia went into a Tulsa, OK QuikTrip with the intent of robbing the store. However, the clerk unintentionally threw a wrench in his plan. The clerk couldn’t exactly understand Garcia’s demands.
Garcia demanded small bills from the clerk. When asked again, Garcia reported the demand. Mind you, he’s masked up and has a bag for the money. The clerk figured that the robber wanted cigarettes and asked him what kind he wanted.
Defeated at this point, he asked for Marlboro long—or 100s. Garcia stuffed his bag with energy pills that are sometimes found on the counter of gas stations, paid for a Black & Mild cigar, and fled the scene. It wasn’t the robbery he wanted but it was the one he deserved.
After fleeing, he hopped on a bus but police were able to follow their suspect and nabbed him when he reached his stop. Fortunately, no one was hurt during this robbery. If anything, it was an inconvenience for everyone involved but Oscar Garcia.
In speaking with officers after his arrest, Garcia said he went into the gas station earlier but he had been recognized easily because of his facial tattoos.
He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on a $25,000 bond. Garcia had been charged with wearing a mask in the commission of a felony, strong arm robbery, and commission of a gang crime after a former conviction of a felony.
