The Royal family were keen on distancing themselves from Lilibet’s birthday party.
Royal Family Blasted For Distancing Themselves From Lilibet’s Birthday Despite Royal Members Attending-‘How Disgusting To Treat A Baby Like That’
That is according to Royal expert Camilla Tominey. The birthday party became a centre of controversy since it had been thrown in and amongst Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
During the course of that process, Prince William and Kate Middleton had turned down the opportunity to attend. It is alleged that only a few people connected to the Royals attended.
This included Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall and Prince Anne’s son Peter Phillips’ children. As a result, that did not paint a positive picture of the Royals for the following reasons.
First of all, it demonstrated there was a certain section of people connected to the Royals who were willing to attend. And by attending, they were willing to put behind any bad blood. Secondly, this made William and Kate’s absence even more prominent.
After all, if members outside of Harry’s own siblings attended, then what does that say about his brother. And this may explain why the Royals were not keen to be connected to the party.
In her comments, Camilla said: “According to one source: ‘There was a bit of reluctance among the royals to admit to having any involvement in Lilibet’s birthday party.'”
Despite that being the case, it appears the party went down very well. Misan Harriman, who happens to be a close friend of the couple, had this to say: “It was such a privilege to celebrate the 1st birthday of Lilibet with my family and hers!”
With that being said, the fans on social media were outraged by the conduct of the Royal family. A certain subset of people were of the view that Lilibet was ultimately being used and harmed in a game between the Royals and the Sussexes.
One person wrote: “So family member were ashamed to say their children attended Lili’s 1st Birthday Party, how disgusting to treat a baby like that.”
