Jake Paul was supposed to fight Tommy Fury, Tyson Fury’s brother on August 6th, but after numerous issues and finally his entry to the US being declined, Fury stepped out of the game. He made space for a new competition to enter, Hasim Rahman Jr. Now, everything is set up and The Madison Square Garden and the world are prepared to see the YouTube star fight once more.
Just weeks before the fight is to take place, Jake Paul reveals that he is in the final stage of his preparation and to work on some finesses he is working with ex-champ Chad Dawson.
A Three Time World Champion Is Preparing Jake Paul For The Hasim Rahman Fight
This will be one of Jake Paul’s toughest fights in his career. He is still undisputed, and has a record of 5-0-0, but, this is the first time that he will be facing a boxer in the ring. The people he fought until now were coming from combat sports, but not from boxing directly.
This created a situation where the world and all of Jake’s possible opponents were questioning his boxing skills. Because finally, in order to be a successful professional boxer, you need to fight boxers.
Chad Dawson is the ex-lightweight champion and throughout his long career, he obtains this title three times. People still consider him one of the best fighters in the lightweight division.
In 2007, Chad rook a victory over Tomasz Adamek and became the WBC light-heavyweight champion. In 2008 he scored a win against Antonio Tarver and won the IBF and the IBO titles. Dawson had fought sounding boxing names throughout his career. Adonis Stevenson and Bernard Hopkins are two of them.
Chad Dawson has a professional record of 36-5-0. Through the 25-year spread of his career, he had marked only 5 losses, and that is remarkable.
Now, after his boxing days in the ring are over, he starts coaching and teaching young talents to master the skills. Jake Paul is one of them. Chad has a tough task on his plate. Jake’s opponent is far more experienced than him and has a record of 12-1-0. However, the fact that he has shed a lot of weight to fight Paul might be easing the job a bit. Being a Heavyweight, Rahman might lack some of the speed and endurance the lightweights have.
To enjoy this fight, you need to put aside $60 for the PPV. The fans are in shock by the price and Jake receives criticism for being too greedy. Furthermore, none of the $60 will go to Hasim, all of the PPV money is Jake’s to take. This caused even more criticism to be heading Jake’s way.
