Amber Heard and her lawyers request a new trial due to ‘improper jurors service. After she lost the multimillion case and needs to pay $10 million to her ex-husband, Amber has second thoughts about the jurors’ decision.
This time these claims may be serious since they have facts and official information backing them up. The information is regarding one of the jurors, however, it may change the whole situation.
Were The Jurors For the Amber vs Johnny Trial Biased? – Amber Heard Calls For Mistrial Due To Improper Juror Service
Amber’s lawyers have information that there was a sudden change of one of the jurors just before the trial started. The court summoned one set of jurors before the trial and announced them officially. But, just days after that, when the trial started, they replaced one of the jurors with another one. Now, Amber and her lawyers think that the purpose for this might be so that the jury has a person siding with Johnny. All this so she can lose the trial.
“Juror no 15 was not the individual summoned for jury duty on 11 April 2022, and therefore was not part of the jury panel and could not have properly served on the jury at this trial.” – they state.
“As the court no doubt agrees, it is deeply troubling for an individual not summoned for jury duty nonetheless to appear for jury duty and serve on a jury, especially in a case such as this.” – they add. “This is a high-profile case, where the publishing of the jurors and date of the jury trial is prior to and after the issuance of the juror summonses.”
Furthermore, the lawyers see this as a breach of the basic right that Amber Heard has. She has the right to rely on the decision that the jurors will be the same throughout the whole trial. Any sudden change in this might signal irregularities.
“Ms. Heard’s due process was therefore compromised.” Amber’s lawyers state. “Under these circumstances, the court should declare a mistrial, and order a new trial. For all the reasons set forth above and in the initial memorandum, Ms. Heard respectfully requests this court declare a mistrial due to improper juror service in violation of her due process rights, and order a new trial, and such other action or relief as may be appropriate.”
Moreover, the actress thinks that the decision at the end of the trial is not based on the presented evidence. She claims that the evidence shown during the six-week trial surely suggests different outcome than the verdict. As a result, Amber faces ‘damage’ of about $10 million. According to her and her lawyers, the way of making this decision for the amount is not fair. She most certainly deserves a new trial.
What do you think? Is there a background for such claims?
