One of the questions looming following Stephanie McMahon taking over as Co-CEO of WWE and Triple H being in charge of WWE Creative is could we see Sasha Banks and Naomi return?
There does some to be a possibility of this as far as fans sharing their thoughts on social media, and it’s primarily because Stephanie is reportedly liked by the women in WWE.
It’s been reported that the belief is that between Stephanie and Triple H running things the women’s division will be treated more equally than they’ve been and they won’t have their matches regularly cut short or removed because they’re women.
Of course, another possibility for the women’s division getting more deserved time could be because Kevin Dunn’s time with the company is supposed to be coming to an end.
According to Jim Cornette, Dunn is a product of models with implants over actual female wrestlers and John Laurinaitis would only sign women Dunn liked.
How true this is is anyone’s guess, but with a shift in the power structure, we could be seeing other changes coming.
Problems with Vince’s methods
One of the main reasons Banks and Naomi could return is simply that Vince is no longer running things, and it’s believed he was the one they had issues with.
Their walk out was over how the women’s tag division and the women’s division in general was being handled, and since Vince had the final say it makes sense they may give it a try with Stephanie running things.
This could also extend to other stars like Paige, whose contract is nearing its end.
There’s every chance she could be resigned and find some of her previous glory with Triple H’s booking, and that’s a definite selling point going forward to bolster and rebuild their women’s division.
Numbers in the way
It’ll be interesting to see how things work out, especially considering Nick Kahn is Co-CEO and he’s reportedly the one behind the budget cuts.
He may not be as agreeable to bringing back some of the company’s former stars given their price tags, and there’s a legitimate concern about them taking spaces talent from NXT 2.0 is slated to move into.
That doesn’t really work given the roster is so depleted the brand split has basically been abolished to move talent from Smackdown to Raw and back as needed for storylines.
There’s no denying the WWE needs an infusion of talent to flesh out their shows, and we could even see some other released talent get another look.
Will we see Sasha Banks and Naomi back in the WWE with Stephanie in charge? Let us know in the comments below.
