Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Results!
Tonight should be a interesting one as it’s SummerSlam’s Go Home episode and we’re curious what tweaks will be made to the old system.
Without further ado, let’s get to the action!
Old Fashioned Donnybrook – Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus
Sheamus attacked Drew from behind while Drew was being introduced, and threw him into the ring post and into the ring to start the match.
Starting off with a fight without a promo two shows in a row is a great way to get things moving.
Drew turned it around with a couple of chops and a Mishinoku Driver for a pin attempt, but Sheamus took out his legs on the apron and grabbed a shillelagh.
Drew ducked and hit a back suplex to take it away, and Sheamus nailed him with a kick and clotheslined him over the top rope.

Sheamus was thrown over the announce desk, and Drew listened to the fans and got out a table, but Sheamus took him out and threw him into the ring steps to a chorus of boos.
Drew took control and bounced Sheamus off the barricade, ring post, and a stack of barrels at ringside as we headed to commercial.
Drew fired up and went after Sheamus with belly to belly suplexes and a neckbreaker before he grabbed a bunch of his own chairs and threw them into the ring, bus Sheamus halted him by throwing one into his face.
Sheamus went for a White Noise on the chairs, but Drew countered with a Future Shock DDT on them for a near pinfall.
Ridge Holland hit Drew in the back with a shillelagh and Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick for a near pinfall.
Drew threw Ridge into a ring post, then belly to belly suplexed him through a table on the floor as we headed to commercial.

After Drew put Sheamus into a bar, Butch caught him off the top of the barrels with a clothesline and Sheamus nailed Drew with a chair.
Sheamus carried Drew to the second rope and hit a White Noise for another near pinfall.
Drew fought off Sheamus and Butch and hit Ridge with a Claymore, and Sheamus took him out with a Brogue Kick but Drew kicked out again.
Drew caught his second Brogue Kick attempt and powerbombed Sheamus through a table, then Drew hit a Claymore while Sheamus was on his knees for the win to go to Clash at the Castle.

After the match, Drew started to cut a promo about taking the title from the part timers when Theory attacked him and beat him down with the MITB briefcase.
Happy Corbin appeared behind Pat McAfee to taunt him after buying a ticket. He has a sign with a younger picture of McAfee with “Loser” written next to it and threw popcorn at him.
Eventually security came out after Corbin threw a bag of popcorn in his face, then he split McAfee’s uprights from behind. Maybe Corbin should’ve been the kicker?
Shotzi vs. Aliyah

It was announced Lacey Evans wasn’t medically cleared to compete, so we expect her to jump in.
After a brief exchange, Shotzi went after Aliyah with high level of aggression and went for a pin attempt, then a Boston Crab but Aliyah made it to the ropes.
Aliyah came back and caught Shotzi with a meteora off the apron, but Shotzi shoved her into the ring post and hit a Never Wake Up for the win.
