WWE Smackdown Results returned as Michael Cole introduced Miss Money in the Bank and new Smackdown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan.

Cole talked about how ten years ago she was a waitress struggling to save to be a wrestler, and asked what it means to her to be Smackdown Women’s champion.

She said it means everything to her as she’s dreamed about it her whole life. There were times she didn’t think she’d get there, but she did.

She was in the process of telling fans to follow their dreams when Natalya came out and said she dreams of when Morgan shuts up.

Natalya pointed out she only won because of her injuring Ronda Rousey and she enjoyed it.

Of course Rousey came out in response with an obvious limp.

Rousey told Morgan to conserve her strength as defending the title is harder than winning it, then she turned her attention to Natalya and asked the fans if she should beat the crap out of her.

Natalya nailed Rousey from behind and Morgan sent Natalya to the floor.

    Ronda Rousey vs. Natalya

Rousey went to work on Natalya’s left leg right off the bat, and after having her leg wrapped in the ropes, Natalya headed to the floor.

Rousey chased her down on the ramp and kicked her hamstring and hammered Natalya back to the ring.

She locked in an ankle lock in the ropes, then again in the ring, and followed it with an exploder. Then she locked in an ankle lock again for the tap out.

    Maximum Male Models Tennis Collection

Another round of applause for ma.çé and mån.sôör!#SmackDown @MaxDupri pic.twitter.com/gF9fTDfcly

    — WWE (@WWE) July 9, 2022

Max Dupri citied overwhelming support for Maximum Male Models, which goes to show he wasn’t checking social media much, and began showing their tennis collection with ma.çé first.

Next up was mån.sôör with plenty of tennis balls in his pockets.

Aliyah and Lacey Evans vs. Shayna Baszler and Shotzi

After her introduction, Evans headed back to the back and came out to a second lackluster welcoming, so she grabbed a mic.

She wanted to take a minute to tell the fans she’s disgusted by the response she got. She was cheered last week and suddenly booed tonight. We have a feeling some PA trickery was at work to set this up.

She continued criticizing the fans and calling them weak for knowing they can’t go through half the struggles she did and be half the woman she is. She then demanded a standing ovation.

She told the fans they could go to hell, then hit a Woman’s Right on Aliyah when she tried to convince her to stay for their match.

Championship Contenders Match – The Usos (Jimmy, Jey) vs. Los Lotharios (Angel, Humberto)

    — WWE (@WWE) July 9, 2022

The match was already under progress during the commercial break, and the Los Lotharios sent the Usos to the floor, then played cat and mouse entering and leaving the ring.

Jey blind tagged in and hit a pop up Samoan drop on Humberto for a near pinfall Angel broke up.

Jey nailed Humberto with a superkick, and the Usos hit a assisted cutter for the win.

    Drew McIntyre vs. Butch

Before the scheduled match started, Sheamus tried to explain what was at stake, but something was in his throat and started coughing.

He said it’s Covid and he can’t compete until he’s cleared, so he announced Drew would face Butch instead. Guess this is how they fix the time mismanagement?

    — WWE (@WWE) July 9, 2022

Butch went after Drew and Drew tossed him across the ring and Butch hit a missile dropkick and went for a wrist lock Drew powered out of and hit a Glasgow Kiss.

Drew hit a neckbreaker and Claymore for the win.

Ridge attacked Drew and ate a Future Shock DDT for his trouble.

After a staredown, Drew swiped at Sheamus with his sword and cut the top rope and fire erupted from the ring posts.

This was… we’re not sure how to describe it. It made no sense aside from bad time management for whatever reason as it had more of a scrambling, desperate feel the second hour.

What do you think happened? Let us know in the comments below and thank you for joining WWE Smackdown Results. We had a blast hanging out and can’t wait for next week.

    See you all then!
