Johnny Depp Set To Direct First Movie In 25 Years-‘#JohnnyDeppRises’
This is a major landmark for Depp whose career continues to skyrocket in the aftermath of his defamation trial victory against Amber Heard.
We have already seen his music career do well, as shown by his performances with Jeff Beck. In addition, reports also indicated that Depp’s artwork sold for a massive £3 million. With that being said, his popularity is higher than ever.
When speaking about the movie, this is what Depp had to say: “The saga of Mr. Modigliani’s life is one that I’m incredibly honored and truly humbled to bring to the screen.
“It was a life of great hardship but eventual triumph — a universally human story all viewers can identify with.”
That feeling of struggle is something that the fans will have the opportunity of seeing, as the movie is based on the life of the artist ‘Modigliani’ who struggles to sell his work in Paris.
The film is allegedly set to begin filming in 2023, as Depp will work alongside Al Pacino and Barry Navidi as co-producers. This latest move sums up the renaissance that Depp has been having of late with his career.
He has also began filming for ‘Jeanne du Barry,’ a film where he portrays the life of King Louis XV. And with so many things in the pipeline, the fans on social media were delighted to see Depp back better than ever.
One person wrote: “That’s wonderful news and I really needed to hear that today! Johnny Depp as a director, I can’t wait! #JohnnyDeppRises.”
Time will tell how the movie plays out, but based on what we have seen so far, there is a lot of anticipation for it. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
