Meghan Markle praised Serena Williams for making pregnancy look sexy, as the pair discussed their respective experiences.
Meghan Markle Talks Pregnancy With Serena Williams On First Archetypes Podcast-‘I Just Waddled Around, I Was Just Tired, Under A Lot Of Stress’
The conversation played out on the long-anticipated Spotify podcast that Markle launched entitled, ‘Archetypes.’ During the course of that process, Serena made it very clear that she enjoyed the whole experience.
Serena became a mother to her daughter (Olympia) in 2017, while Meghan welcomed Archie 2 years later. And looking back, Serena had nothing but fond memories of having a child.
In the interview, she said: “I love being a woman and I love, I loved being pregnant. You know, I was one of those. I was like, ‘Oh, I love this…I’m so happy.’ Like, I was literally one of…those women.”
In contrast, Meghan’s experience was a lot more different. She admitted she struggled to get to grips with the pregnancy, which is understandable for the following reasons.
First of all, she was pregnant a year before she actually left the Royal Family. Therefore, the implication is that Meghan was balancing the stress from her pregnancy and the royal grievances in general.

Secondly, Meghan failed to embrace the changes that were happening with her during this period. In response, Markle remarked: “Forget it. It’s just like everything. You made pregnancy look so sexy. I just waddled around.
“I was just tired. So tired. Oh my God.” Meghan may not have referred to the exact cause of her stress, but she did admit that it existed. Serena added: “You were under a lot of stress,” to which Meghan replied: “Yeah, it’s true.”
The fans on social media could not help but see that Markle had been under stress. And in the process of doing so, they did not hold back on the negative treatment Meghan received.
One person wrote: “Meghan Markle had a smear campaign launched against her a few months after her wedding, during her first pregnancy, in a new country after giving up her career to support the royal family, while also suffering sexist & racist abuse.”
