Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are unlikely to stay with Queen Elizabeth II during their UK visit next month.
Harry And Meghan Will Not Stay With Queen During Their UK Visit Next Month
The couple are set to attend the ‘One Young World Summit,’ and the ‘WellChild Awards’ as part of their UK charitable initiatives. This marks a swift return to the UK after having recently attended the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
However, the pair are unlikely to be in close attendance with the monarch who is currently in Balmoral, Scotland, for the purposes of her summer break. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are expected to stay in Windsor.
After all, the Sussexes already have their Frogmore Cottage. This could pave the way for the pair to use it as accommodation during their visit. And this is especially true since the pair do not intend on giving up that property anytime soon.
A source confirmed the following: “By agreeing to extend the lease, and with Jack and Eugenie focusing on Portugal, they have a firm presence smack bang in the middle of Windsor court where it is all happening. They can now come and go any time they please.”
By continuing to have a UK base, the Sussexes will most likely have future UK visits planned. In addition, as there were conflicting reports over if Harry and Meghan had been invited to Balmoral, the couple has the means to dictate UK visits on their own terms.
The fans on social media, though, were not surprised by this possibility. A certain subset recognized that there was a chance the monarch could have snubbed the Sussexes. Therefore, Sussexes’ decision could have been forced anyway.
One person wrote: “Queen not seeing Meghan and Harry in the UK would be ultimate snub.” Even if the pair do not end up staying with the monarch, there is still a chance that their paths will cross.
They did have a private meeting during the Jubilee even if it was for a reported 15 minutes. So who knows if something similar could happen again.
