In Alabama, the Birmingham Public Works employees discovered two bodies in an overgrown lot in the Wylam neighborhood. The discovery was made on August 23, 2022 at around 11:30 AM on Cambridge Street. Workers were doing their usual city maintenance when they stumbled upon the bodies.
Public Works Finds the Bodies of Man and Woman in Overgrown Lot in Alabama
The Birmingham PD reported that the bodies were those of a male and female and that they had been in the lot for about a week. A man went missing earlier in August and his family was brought to see if they could ID him. As of now, there’s been no identification of the remains.
Lt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham PD said that’s a bit early to call this an incident of foul play. This appears to be a case that appears pretty cut and dry just by there being two bodies in an overgrown field—one of the locations where bodies are typically dumped.
Also, for the past two weeks now, it’s been relatively cool in Birmingham, so the heat stroke issue from earlier in the summer probably doesn’t factor in. Also, it would be totally unexpected and unfortunate for two people to die at the same time, in the same overgrown lot of health problems.
However, we’ll see how this story develops and if the Birmingham PD can make any progress with the little they have here.
What do you think? Does it seem like murder to you? Do you believe this could be a suicide pact? Or are you leaning towards it being too early to call foul play?
