The specifics of Mystikal’s first-degree rape charge as well as his other assorted felonies have come out throughout the day. This includes charges that weren’t included in initial reports.
The Specifics of Mystikal’s Recent Rape and False Imprisonment Charges in Louisiana
Booked into the Ascension Parish Jail just before 1 PM on July 31, 2022, Mystikal—born Michael Tyler—was hit with one count each for first-degree rape, domestic abuse battery via strangulation, simple robbery, and possession of both a Schedule 1 and Schedule 4 drug.
There is also a felony charge for a Schedule 2 drug amphetamine, the only drug listed in his inmate detail. As for the misdemeanors, he was charged with one count each for possession of an unnamed Schedule 1 drug, drug paraphernalia, simple criminal property damage to property worth less than $1,000, and false imprisonment.
The thing about these charges is that it seems like a lot of charges for one evening. We’re talking an even ten charges. So how did all of this go down? Well, during the weekend of July 31, an acquaintance rolled into Prairieville, Louisiana to visit him.
That visit allegedly became physical after Mystikal—going back to the failed 2003 playbook—blamed the woman for stealing $100 from him. The victim claims that he punched her, pulled out her hair, then take her mobile phone and keys, preventing her from leaving his home.
Later, the victim said that she contacted a friend to meet her at a hospital in Baton Rouge, accusing the Tarantula artist of raping her. A rape kit was performed and the findings matched her version of the events.
At the moment, Mystikal was being held at the Ascension Parish Jail and his bail hearing is scheduled for today, August 2, 2022. Considering the charges and law enforcement has dealt with him several times before for similar crimes, that bond might be comparable to his $3 million bond from 2017.
