It’s been a rough few years for ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan. The WWE Hall of Famer would battle prostate cancer in 2021, and was able to undergo surgery and could end the year by announcing he’s cancer free. However, cancer struck back in 2022 – and Duggan would once again fight back.
Jim Duggan Has Beaten Cancer For The Third Time After Completing Eight Weeks Of Radiation Treatment
He would announce that his cancer returned back in May, and would undergo eight weeks of radiation treatments. That is now all finished, and Jim Duggan is once again cancer free. He’d get to ring a bell in the facility to signal this – and was looking forward to this. In an emotional video posted to Instagram – Duggan would be quoted saying the following before finally ringing the bell on his battle with cancer.
“For 8 weeks I’ve been coming by, looking at this bell, listening to the other folks coming by and ringing the bell. I’ve been looking forward to it. After 8 weeks, here we go.”
He’d go on to thank the doctors, nurses, technicians, family, friends and fans for supporting and helping him through his toughest battle yet. Needless to say, this is the biggest victory of the life of Duggan – and hopefully will be the end of his issues related to cancer.
Duggan now intends to get back to work on restoring an old car. He’s been out of the ring since 2019 – and while an in-ring return isn’t out of the cards – it’s unlikely. This makes his third successful battle against cancer, having battled kidney cancer in 1998 – which led to a hiatus from the ring. Back in March, Duggan said doctors told him to ‘go ahead and live life’.
