Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
Tonight looks like it’s going to be a fun one with some great matches lined up, including a Second Chance Fatal 4 Way for the Women’s Tag Team Championship following the news of Gigi Dolan’s unfortunate injury.
We’re going to grab some snacks and be back here to kick WWE Smackdown Live Results into gear at the 8 p.m. EST.
Segment 1
Ricochet vs. Happy Corbin
Ricochet started it out fast, but Corbin’s size and strength even things out until Ricochet hit a corkscrew moonsault off the second rope to the floor as we headed to commercial.
Segment 2
Corbin turned it around by slamming Ricochet on the announce desk and hitting a forearm to the back of Ricochet’s head when he came off the ropes.
Ricochet stayed alive and hit a Shooting Star Press for the win.
Segment 3
Drew McIntyre was the focus of an inspirational video where he talked about his WWE career and how he messed it up and how his mother inspired him to turn it around and work hard to return to his dream.
Karrion Kross and Scarlett appeared on the titantron, and Kross told him maybe it is his time, or maybe it’s not. He told Drew to savor it because at any more he could put his arm through the back of Drew’s head and end it all.
Segment 4
Last Change Fatal 4 Way Tag Team Match – Dana Brooke and Tamina vs. Shotzi and Xia Li vs. Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop vs. Natalya and Sonya Deville
This was chaotic from the start as everyone unloaded on each other to get the last remaining spot in the semi finals.
Sonya tagged in as Dana superplexed Nikki from the top rope and into the rest on the floor. Sonya dragged Nikki into the ring for the pin to grab the semi final spot.
Segment 5
The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge Holland) came to the ring, and Sheamus wasted no time in laying an insult at GUNTHER’s feet and he came out and Sheamus interrupted Ludwig Kaiser’s introduction and lectured GUNTHER about his own accomplishments.
Sheamus told him he reminds him of himself, but he has something he wants and that’s the Intercontinental Championship. Sheamus promised to drag the title off GUNTHER’s lifeless body and into the belly of the red dragon.
GUNTHER pledged to break the man they say can’t be broken, and as they stood nose to nose Butch went after Ludwig and Holland got involved. The whole time Sheamus and GUNTHER remained staring at each other.
They eventually held back their boys and separated.
Segment 6
Once again, Sami Zayn knocked on Roman Reigns’ dressing room and Jimmy was pleasant to him while Jey was confrontational as usual. Roman Reigns invited Sami in and thanked him for taking a Claymore for him last week.
Reigns asked him to make sue Drew is distracted and Sami promised he’s got this and Drew will be ready to be broken in half by the time he gets to Cardiff.
Semi Finals Women’s Tag Team Tournament – Aliyah and Raquel Rodriquez vs. Sonya Deville and Natalya
With Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai at ringside, this is going to be interesting.
Natalya and Aliyah started it off fast and furious, and after a back and forth, Natalya hit a Mishinoku Driver on Aliyah on the floor as we headed to commercial.
Segment 7
Raquel had to continue alone as Aliyah didn’t return after the Mishinoku Driver and she put up a great fight and hit a Tahana Bomb on Sonya for the win. Aliyah was perfectly fine as she entered the ring after the match to celebrate. A possible heel turn coming up for her?
Maximum Male Models’ photo shoot was interrupted by Hit Row’s music in a touring bus behind them.
Segment 8
Maxxine DuPri returned with Los Lotharios and spray paint.
In the ring, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods made their return with Woods in a wheelchair, probably to sucker in the Viking Raiders.
After Woods said they often make fun of people and Kofi said he broke a couple of ribs, Woods recapped the Viking Funeral last week and Erik and Ivar burning their legacy.
They wondered is New Day is done, and in the middle of Kofi talking the Viking Raiders came out and called them pathetic after they gave the New Day a proper sendoff. Instead of leaving with honor, they were sniveling.
Once they entered the ring and Kofi begged for mercy, Woods got out of the chair and tossed Kofi a kendo stick and they forced the Viking Raiders out of the ring.
Segment 9
Hit Row returned after they wrote Hit Row Sucks on its side and told them it wasn’t their bus and the Stret Profits came out and MMM took off.
Elsewhere, Jey ripped into Sami for disrespecting him last week and told him to handle his business as Jimmy backed him off.
Drew continued his story about how his journey gave him the chance to be the face of wrestling but first he has to beat Roman Reigns. He talked about headlining the first major event in the UK since 1992 and how much it means to him to fulfill his destiny there.
Segment 10
Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn
Sami started the match with his usual games by heading to the floor ended with a right from Drew, and he ducked out again to force Drew to give chase.
Sami kept fighting back and hit a sunset power bomb to buy some time as we headed to commercial.
Segment 11
The Usos came out to distract Drew when he was going for a Claymore, and Sami hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near pinfall, but Dred hit a Claymore for the win.
Reigns came out and beat Drew down from behind, but Drew sent him into the ring post and then fought off the Usos. Reigns hit a spear and the Usos beat Reigns down with a pair of steel chairs.
They then threw him over the announce desk, into the barricade that now sports the show’s logo, and then held drew for a Helluva Kick by Sami.
The Usos continued the assault with the steel ring steps and rolled him into the ring where Reigns told him the top of the mountain is his and Drew won’t have it while he’s around and locked in a guillotine for good measure.
Reigns then put a chair over Drew’s neck and took a seat with his titles.
