With a rematch against Swerve In Our Glory on the horizon after a star making performance at All Out – The Acclaimed have a lot on their mind. Add in the insane week AEW has had, and everyone was looking forward to seeing Max Caster show his skills again. However – things don’t always go as planned.
Swerve Strickland Shuts Down The Acclaimed
Max Caster would have a live microphone and a lot of material written – only to be cut off by the music of Swerve Strickland. He’s not happy to hear that rematch was announced, and wasn’t hear more stupid corny rap jokes from The Acclaimed. If they want jokes, Swerve has a joke for everyone – “The Acclaimed as AEW Tag Champions”.
Billy Gunn would step up for The Acclaimed, and said that he doesn’t know if Swerve is listening – but this isn’t his house anymore. The crowd was fully behind The Acclaimed, and it will be the same at Arthur Ashe Stadium. In the rematch- they promise to become AEW World Tag Team Champions. This comes on September 21st.
Chris Jericho Seeks To Prove The Locker Room Belongs To Him
Chris Jericho proved a point on Sunday, when he was able to turn back the clock and enter his Lionheart persona – and defeat Bryan Danielson in singles action. This came with a low blow at the end, but a win is a win, and most of the match was spent proving his skills as a technical wrestler. Now tonight on AEW Dynamite, he intends to sing his own praises, as the “Best Wrestler Ever” – and his entry into the Tournament Of Champions.
With Anna Jay.A.S, Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo by his side – Jericho hyped up the gigantic victory on All Out. He claims to have found the fountain of youth, and is drinking it in. He’s the best wrestler, the best sports entertainer, and he will win the Tournament of Champions – and become an eight time champion. This is his company, his locker room, and soon it will be his belt once again.
However, he acknowledges there is one more potential winner in Sammy Guevara – who faces Darby Allin in a first round match on Rampage. Jericho knows Guevara will win, and then he’ll go on to defeat Moxley – and have a classic with Jericho at Grand Slam.
Wardlow Is Dominant As TNT Champion
Wardlow is keen on being a fighting champion in AEW – and tonight will be putting the TNT Championship on the line once again. Tony Nese accepted the open challenge, and might just be the latest victim in the reign of Wardlow.
Nese would take a headbutt and a lariat as the bell rang, before Wardlow would already call for the powerbomb symphony. The first one landed, and Nese would be rocked. A second and third followed – and Wardlow remains TNT Champion. He’s recaptured his old hot streak, and just in time.
Wardlow would thank the fans who didn’t turn on him when things got cold, and reminded everyone that everyone is just living in Wardlow’s world. Who can stop Wardlow? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
