Brian Pillman Jr. Will Stand With Who Won AEW Backstage Fight

When it comes to AEW right now, everyone is still focused on just what happened backstage following All Out. We know that Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks got into a locker room brawl with CM Punk & Ace Steel. Everyone involved got handed suspensions, with Punk also being out injured with a torn tricep. It’s split the locker room with Team Punk vs. Team Elite, and Brian Pillman Jr. is one man who is staying neutral until he knows which side won the fight.

Brian Pillman Jr. Is Waiting To Back The Winning Side

While speaking with former WWE World Tag Team Champion and current Pro Wrestling NOAH talent Renee Dupree on the Cafe de Rene podcast, Brian Pillman would joke that he is standing with whichever side won the backstage fight. Pillman was quoted saying the following with a smile and a laugh.

“I wasn’t there, so I didn’t get to see who won the fight. I’m not going to decide whose side I’m on. Whoever won the fight, that’s whose side I’m on. I’m not going to side with the losers, I’ll say that. Honestly, it’s over my head. I wasn’t there. I look up to all the guys so I’m like, ‘Damn, I can’t believe my heroes are fighting each other.’ It is what it is. Whenever I’m there, I’m just happy to be there and try not to piss anybody off and get punched myself. I’m sure people have probably wanted to punch me too. Good thing I’ve dodged that. They’re all great guys. Everyone just loves the wrestling and different personalities. Things change. We were in Jacksonville and now we’re on the road and it’s a little more serious and people are starting to clash a little, that’s all.”

As of the time of writing, Brian Pillman Jr. has not wrestled in AEW since the August 21st AEW Dark tapings. He’s been off AEW TV since the August 17th episode of AEW Dynamite, where Varsity Blondes lost to The Gunn Club in 31 seconds. It’s unclear what the future holds for Pillman Jr & Griff Garrison – but they might be retooled for the future after some crushing losses.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
