A California man was slapped with ten years in federal prison who was moving and selling fentanyl, coke, heroin, and meth throughout Puget Sound in Washington state.
Rodrigo Alvarez-Quinonez (31) was found guilty of drug trafficking charges in June 2022 after being arrested in August 2020.

With meth and fentanyl being among the most pressing drug problems in the U.S, federal authorities have gone particularly hard on traffickers via stings and border busts. However, some always squeeze through and few will run a city or region with their drugs.
This is the case with Alvarez-Quinonez who set up camp in Puget Sound.
Scooped up in a one-year wiretap investigation that took twelve people off the streets, Alvarez-Quinonez was one of the people responsible for directing his co-conspirators where to fetch packages and where to deliver them.
Through the wiretaps, authorities found that his crew operated throughout the southwest and northwest with California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington being well covered.
U.S Attorney Nick Brown said of Rodrigo Alvarez-Quinonez:
“His control of large amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine make his activities dangerous for those sickened with addiction and for their loved ones. This case should serve as an example that under federal law, those working with drug cartels will face significant prison sentences.”
In the 2020 bust that put Alvarez-Quinonez away, authorities seized roughly 7,500 pills possibly containing fentanyl, pounds of both meth and heroin, a couple of firearms, a car with hiding compartments built in, and over $100,000 in cash.
