The last time the Merrifeilds saw Roberta was in Brazil and they had purchased a plane ticket for her. She had a limited opportunity to get her visa and move to America, and she promised that no matter the situation, she would come to America. At the beginning of the episode, it was claimed that production was suppose to be there as she arrived America.

Later, the Merrifields received a text that was disturbing- Roberta wasn’t coming. Danielle felt betrayed and she was seen wailing and shouting. Bert had claimed that they were sisters, but she lied. Bert wasted their money and time for three years.
The Merrifields shared in a confessional what really happened. Roberta had asked Garrick for a huge amount of money before her arrival date. After the money had cleared, she sent them a break up text. Precisely, the money was around $10,000 and they had been sending her money every month.
Dannielle and Garrick have really sacrificed a lot for Roberta by divorcing so that she could come to America. They even built a larger house to accommodate another wife. They even built a sister room for her and Dannielle. Now, they would have to move Dannielle’s stuff back to the master’s bedroom.
Dannielle assumed that they had married Roberta in Mexico, though not legally. It was hard to tell her family about what Bert did. They felt sad that someone could hurt the duo. Bert had been introduced to Dannielle’s family and they had welcomed her wholeheartedly.
Even the Merrifield kids loved her. Bert had claimed that she couldn’t stand Garrick being with Lea, but Dannielle had watched her and Garrick together, and it was not easy for her. However, the Merrifields have not given up on their lifestyle. The duo are already seeing someone new.
