Fans have reacted to Meghan Markle’s claim that she was an ‘ugly duckling’ growing up.
Fans React After Meghan Markle Calls Herself An ‘Ugly Duckling’-‘Just Give It A Rest Meghan’
Ugly duckling refers to the idea of someone turning out to be beautiful against all expectations. And this comment arose out of Meghan’s conversation with Mindy King during the third episode of her ‘Archetypes’ podcast on Spotify.
During the course of that process, Mindy assumed that Meghan would have been portrayed as a beauty icon in light of how she is seen today in certain circles. And yet, it turned out to be anything but that as the Duchess of Sussex admitted that she had more intellect.
She backed up her comments by stating how she would become presidents of various clubs in her school in order to avoid the fact that she was a self-professed ‘loner.’
In her comments, she said: “[I was the] ugly duckling…Look, maybe not conventional beauty as it… now, maybe that would be seen as beautiful but massive frizzy curly hair and a huge gap in my teeth. I was the smart one.”

Fast forward today, supporters of Meghan may argue that she has managed to achieve a balance between beauty and brains. This is on the basis that she is becoming more vocal and outspoken on causes that she is passionate about.
This is irrespective of the fact that public opinion is against her, as shown by a recent poll which found that she was the second-least-trusted member connected to the royals apart from Prince Andrew.
The fans on social media had a lot to say about Meghan’s words. And in the process of doing so, they slammed the Duchess of Sussex. One person wrote: “OMG. Just give it a rest Meg[h]an and fly off. Tara.”
It is fair to say that Meghan’s unfiltered approach did not go down well with the public, despite her intentions of coming across as authentic. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
