Meghan Markle has been accused of using her royal title in order to set up her own brand.
Meghan Markle Accused Of Exploiting Her Royal Title To Set Up Her Own Brand-‘Bigging Up Her Own Image,’ Says Royal Expert Tesa Dunlop
That is according to Royal expert Tesa Dunlop. Meghan received the Duchess of Sussex title following her marriage to Prince Harry.
But as they are no longer working members in the Royal Family, there have been question marks over whether the titles should still stand.
This is particularly since the couple were outspoken against the firm, which had given the titles in the first place. But it is Meghan who has managed to exploit the title by setting up her brand, as shown by her interview in ‘The Cut’ and her Spotify Podcast, ‘Archetypes.’
It is here Meghan has had the opportunity to speak ‘unfiltered’ and garner support from those who felt she had been harshly treated by the royals.
In the process of doing so, she has generated a lot of headlines which has seen her Spotify podcast reach number one. This is all the while she makes visits to the UK, despite public opinion being against her.

And yet, that has been a move which has paid off. In her comments, Tesa said: “Meghan went into the Royal Family, scooped up the tinsel and the title and went back to America.
“[And] bigging up her own image and making her own products. I would say, to an extent, fair play to her. That’s the way of the world.”
Nevertheless, that move could come at a cost. There are increasing calls for Harry and Meghan to have their titles stripped. So much so that petitions have been signed online in order to make that happen.
Although that may be the case, it seems that Queen Elizabeth II would not be allowed to do this unilaterally without an act of Parliament.
And if that does end up happening, then surely the pair’s stock will diminish. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
