Prince Charles Did Not Foresee Meghan Taking ‘Over Harry The Way She Did,’ Says Royal Expert Ingrid Seward
That is according to royal expert Ingrid Seward. These comments centre around the fact that Meghan did manage to persuade Harry to leave the Royal Family in 2020.
And as part of that process, the couple did have their controversial Oprah Winfrey interview expressing that someone in the Royal Family had reservations about their son Archie’s skin colour.
Not only that, but the recent bombshells in ‘The Cut’ interview happened on the eve of the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, something which happened even with Harry in the background.
This has all led to the breakdown of relations between Harry and his father with reports that the couple turned down the opportunity to see him and Queen Elizabeth II at Balmoral. And that was something that Charles did not foresee.
In her comments, Ingrid said: “Charles was unprepared for her to take over Harry the way she did and turn him against everything he knew and loved including his own family.”

Nevertheless, Charles had reportedly been very welcoming of Meghan from the outset. This was also seen following their departure with reports that Charles had funded their initial move to California.
With that being said, the fact the relations are so bad is seen as a slap in the face. This is particularly since the grandchildren are being put in the middle, as Archie and Lilibet have inadvertently been deprived of their grandparents.
And this was a long way from the initial positivity shown to Meghan. Ingrid’s following comments confirmed as much: “Harry and Charles had much in common.
“They both loved nature and animals and together with William played polo as a family unit. Harry was sensitive and Charles knew he would need a strong woman. He liked Meghan when she came along.”
