It was a tough loss for JD McDonagh back at NXT Heatwave – but he’s had time to recover from the war he waged against Bron Breakker. His attention is now put onto Wes Lee, a man who had some choice words for McDonagh following a recent video package, mainly calling him a freak. McDonagh would rather be a freak than someone weak minded however, and will look to take Lee down in the ring here tonight.
JD McDonagh Breaks Wes Lee Down
McDonagh would grab a headlock, and take Lee right down to the mat. Lee would break free and show his speed with some arm drags, but would get cornered and choked in the corner. McDonagh would be sent out to the floor – and Lee hit a picture perfect dive over the top rope.
Lee would follow up in the ring with a roll up for a two count – before heading to the top rope and taking a kick to the face and tumbling to the floor. In the middle of the ring, McDonagh would hit a DDT – before Lee would work over the neck on the mat. Lee broke free and picked the pace up with some aggressive strikes, before a double stomp to the spine.
This one spilled to the floor and over the commentary desk, before Lee got a two count in the ring after a Meteora. McDonagh would get back in control using a headbutt, but failed to hit the Devil Inside Suplex. Lee would get a roll up, before being kicked in the face and spiked with the suplex for the finish.
Meiko Satomura Puts Roxanne Perez Through The Paces
After her loss of the NXT UK Women’s Championship at Worlds Collide – Meiko Satomura is looking to bounce back tonight on NXT 2.0. In her first match on American TV since she competed in WCW – Satomura will be taking on the rising star of Roxanne Perez. One person not happy to see this match announced was Cora Jade – who called out The Final Boss, looking to use her to jump to the next level in WWE.
Perez was nervous, hitting the ring to face Satomura, and was quickly taken down to the mat. She’d find her feet before being driven down with a shoulder tackle. Satomura hit some measured strikes, before Perez would get a two count off a roll up. Satomura would apply a chokehold breaking out of a Jacknife pinfall – before Perez countered into the STF.
Sending Satomura to the floor, Perez would hit the dive – and Cora Jade was shown making her way to the ring. Satomura would regain control in the ring, with Perez taking a kick to the chest and being spiked with the DDT before the Satomura Special landed. Surfboard Stretch was applied, and Perez was able to break free and get some offense in before a kick to the jaw.
She’d avoid the Death Valley Driver and applied the Koji Clutch, but Satomura would easily get free. A super rana would get Perez a two count, before Satomura hit Scorpio Rising for the finish. After the bell – Jade hit Perez from behind, showing their issues are far from done.
Will Perez get her revenge on Jade soon? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
