After being successful at Worlds Collide against Ricochet, Carmelo Hayes has been proud to call himself the face of NXT. However, he will be defending his NXT North American Championship here tonight – and can’t prepare for his opponent. Instead, it’s the choice of the WWE Universe – as a fan vote will see who steps up to the A-Champion. Wes Lee won out the votes over Joe Gacy & Von Wagner, but was beat down by Hayes & Williams backstage – all but taking him out of the running.
Solo Sikoa Looks To Bring More Gold To The Bloodline
Content with their actions, Hayes & Williams would reach the ring – and will just mock the locker room until the show goes off the air if Lee can’t reach the ring. Hayes would claim that he Lee a favour, as he’s not someone who is ready for chances like this anyways. Suddenly the music of Solo Sikoa would hit – the newest member of The Bloodline on Smackdown Live.
He was here and dressed for a fight – because like he said before – HE’S GOT NEXT. Sikoa would be launched into the sky with a back body drop, before being hit with the running splash into the corner. Hip attack was avoided thanks to Trick Williams, before Hayes was simply thrown down to the floor onto Trick.
Hayes would be beaten around the ringside area, before gaining some control in the ring with some chops. Sikoa would apply a claw hold to the next, and Hayes would fight free before being dropped with a headbutt. Williams would go after the knee of Sikoa to allow Hayes to hit the springboard lariat.
Carmelo Hayes Gets Overrun By Solo Sikoa
Hayes would focus in on the knee of Sikoa, applying the single leg crab. Sikoa would hold on until he was able to get the bottom rope. Hayes would jump in with a codebreaker but was caught, before Sikoa would hit a superkick and pop up Samoan Drop.
Rushing hip attack would follow, before Williams got involved once again. Hayes would hit the codebreaker, but could not follow up as he was planned with the Samoan Drop for a two count. Rock Bottom would land, before Sikoa went up top and hit the flying splash for the victory.
The NXT North American Championship might well be on it’s way to Friday nights with this victory. Somewhere, a certain tribal chief is happy – as they now control the WWE, Universal, Tag Team, and now the NXT North American Championship.
