Daniel Garcia just wants to carve his own path in AEW, and has broken away from Jericho Appreciation Society. While he’s not officially joining Blackpool Combat Club, the ROH Pure Champion will team with Bryan Danielson here tonight – as he gets a chance to get his hands on Chris Jericho, who is teaming with Sammy Guevara. Garcia getting to team with his childhood hero is huge for him, but a victory over Jericho would be even bigger.
Luchasaurus Claims Another Victim Alongside Christian Cage
Before the main event match, we’d have what can roughly be considered a match. Since becoming the right hand of Christian Cage, former AEW World Tag Team Champion Luchasaurus has been dominant. He’s been focused on tearing down his former partner of “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry – but tonight will be in singles action against yet another victim.
People have not lasted long against Luchasaurus lately, and tonight is not expected to change this. Fuego Del Sol would be the opponent tonight, and he’d run right into a chokeslam before a Burning Hammer for the finish. Just like that, Luchasaurus has nine straight singles wins.
After the bell, Jack Perry would hit the ring with a steel chair. He’d send Luchasaurus to the floor, and grabbed the microphone. They were best friends, yet he chose that snake Chrisitian Cage over him. This broke the heart of Jack Perry, and now he’s going to break him piece by miserable piece.
They can pick the time and place, and Perry will be ready. The place will be next Wednesday is the hometown of Christian Cage, during AEW’s Canada debut.
Daniel Garcia Teams With His Hero
Jericho & Garcia would start this match, with Jericho hitting a quick armdrag after offering a handshake. Garcia would block the second attempt, before they’d trade blows in the middle of the ring. Guevara would get the tag and hit some quick punches to the face of Garcia.
Danielson would get the tag and hit a massive uppercut in the corner to the face of Guevara, before a suicide dive to Jericho on the floor. Guevara went for a dive, but was blocked with an elbow smash before a flying dropkick from the top rope. Danielson would get a submission in the ring, with Jericho breaking it up before ending up in Cattle Mutilation.
Jericho would break free and apply the Walls of Jericho, only for Danielson to fight his way free. Danielson would be dropped with a cross chop, before Jericho was tossed with a suplex. Guevara would dive into the ring, but was caught into a German Suplex. Danielson would hit a running dropkick and suplex, before heading up top and being taken down with a super Spanish Fly for a two count.
Chris Jericho Shows No Honor Once Again
Guevara would crash into Danielson in the middle of the ring as both men looked for running crossbodies. Garcia & Jericho would get tags, before standing off in the ring. Guevara would leap off the top rope and get punched in the face – before Garcia & Jericho got into a hockey fight.
Jericho would be dropped, and ended up in the Dragon Tamer. Guevara would help Jericho free with a superkick, before diving into Danielson on the outside. The lionsault was well scouted, with Garcia blocking with the knees. Guevara would get the tag and ended up in the crossface – and Danielson would catch Jericho in the LeBell Lock.
Garcia & Danielson both moved into the Hammer & Anvil Elbows – with Jericho rolling to the floor. Guevara would be able to catch Danielson with a standing Spanish Fly, before throwing Garcia into the air and kicking him in the spine. GTH would be attempted, with Garcia blocking and hitting the piledriver for the two count – Jericho yanking the leg and taking a jumping knee from Danielson.
Guevara would be run down with a lariat – as Danielson was suplexed through the announce table at ringside. Rising knee and GTH would follow in the ring – but Guevara didn’t go for the pinfall. He’d head up top instead, and Shooting Star Press was blocked. Dragon Slayer was applied, and Guevara was about to tap as Jericho got a shot with the belt to the face of Garcia – allowing Guevara to take the pinfall.
