MJF has the whole world in the palm of his hands, as he can call for a match over the AEW World Championship at a moments notice. Last week, he would put on a fantastic match with Wheeler Yuta, and would show some respect after the bell. Lee Moriarty & Stokely Hathway would attack from behind, and MJF was not impressed.
MJF Knows He’s The Bad Guy
As an interview began, Stokely would come in to celebrate – and be berated for trying to steal MJF’s interview time. MJF was already upset over last week, and ff Stokely pulls that again, he and The Firm are fired. MJF knows the locker room hates his guts, but he has no choice being the bad guy.
He claimed that he has broken his hand punching his reflection, he doesn’t like himself either. However – he will become AEW World Champion because he’s the bad guy. Because he’s got the chip, is a generational talent, and is better than you (and you know it).
Jon Moxley Details What You Need To Be A Champion
Speaking of the champion, the reigning AEW World Champion is Jon Moxley – and after his wife opened the show – he’s here to address his next challenger. Hangman Page will meet him next week during a special Tuesday Night Dynamite in Cincinnati, and these are two men who have never met one on one in AEW. After three years of AEW, Moxley was happy to be in Toronto – and for much of those three years, he’s taken on everyone AEW has sent his way.
Everyone that has walked a mile in his shoes has failed, and that’s why Jon Moxley is a three time AEW World Champion. Guys crumble under pressure and self destruct – some faster than others – as the World Champion doesn’t have the liberty of being anxious or depressed. You need to be ruthless and indiscriminate, which brings Moxley to Hangman Page.
Page would make his way down to the ring, saying that whatever Moxley has to say, he should say it to his face. However, Moxley said it all last week. He respects Page as a wrestler and a person, and that meant the world to him. Page has watched him those past few years, and respects Moxley – he’s a hell of a champion, father and husband – and Page knows Moxley is the type of man he wants to be.
Hangman Page Is A Man
However, the illusions that Page had about Moxley came to an end when Moxley called him a kid last week. Moxley confirmed that is how he’s feeling about Page. This is not the Page who knocked him off a ladder a year ago, and he doesn’t think Page has the guts to pull the trigger and win the belt last week. Page agrees, he hesitated in May and lost the AEW World Championship.
He failed to help Dark Order win the Trios Championship, and is watching them vanish. His old friends have vanished. This is not the same Hangman Page – he’s tired. He’s depressed, angry, and watched life leave this world and enter it over the past three years. Page has proven himself a man during his time in AEW, and is going to prove it again.
Next week, he will take every chance to beat Moxley within an inch of his life to take that belt. All Page has is this title shot and his word, and he promises to become AEW World Champion next week. This is a new level from Hangman Page, and we could be in for the biggest match in AEW history next Tuesday.
