Amber Heard Owes More Money To Her Lawyers Than To Johnny Depp
When the jury reached and delivered the verdict to Amber Heard, it had sort of a ‘cold water’ effect on her. It was just shocking. The judge and jury decided that she needs to pay $10 million to her ex-husband because the Washington Post interview article in 2018 indeed defamed him and affected his acting career.
The debt that Amber Heard has to her lawyers is close to $15 million. In addition to this, she owes significant amounts to two insurance companies, Travelers Commercial Insurance Company and New York Marine General Insurance Company. The nature of these companies’ involvement in the trial is that at one point, they intervened, and were supposed to defend the actress. However, shortly after, they left the lawsuit, stating that they do not have an ongoing obligation to defend Amber Heard.
The insurance policy that Amber Heard had with the companies covers a small portion of the whole debt. It covers up to $500k for David L Axelrod and up to $1 million for Jay Ward Brown. Both lawyers that Amber Heard hired for the lawsuit.
However, this amount is not even close to the total amount that she needs to pay. Covering the whole $15 million to the whole legal team representing her will be a true nightmare. She needs to somehow find $25 million all of a sudden. For that reason, she started selling her real estate. Rumors state that the actress currently has a fortune, not bigger than $5-6 million.
At the moment there are no details shared on that what are her plans for returning what she owes. There are rumors that an adult film industry company offers her $10 million to star in a porn movie. Maybe this is an option that she might start considering.
