To the surprise of everyone, Howie Mandel came out with a comment on Meghan Markle’s claims that she ‘was treated like a bimbo’ during the ‘Deal Or No Deal’ show and backed up the Duchess of Sussex’s claims. The talent show star told that ‘he gets the feeling’ as he ‘felt like nothing’ and a ‘piece of meat’ as well. His comments come after a bunch of the remaining ‘briefcase girls’ from the show slammed Meghan Markle for being cynical and untrue.
Howie Mandel is the host of the show in question on two occasions. First, he kickstarted it in 2005 and remained there until 2009, and after 9 years he hosted its renewal in 2018.
Howie Mandel Defends Meghan Markle – He Felt Like A Piece Of Meat As Well
“I get it.” – Howie Mandel told US Weekly. “I felt like nothing. That’s why I moved on and became a judge on America’s Got Talent. MeI just needed more than to be a Deal or No Deal host. I don’t know why there is a big hoopla about Meghan’s comments, except I have to say that me standing there with 26 women staring at me made me feel like a bimbo.”
“I’ve never said this before — but they had this pyramid of 26 beautiful, intelligent women standing there just staring at me like I was a piece of meat. I was in the center, just dressed up in a suit and I felt like I am more than this.”
While most of the people involved in the show came forward and criticized Meghan Markle for her comments, the main star of it, defends her. Nobody expected this. Howie Mandel even went the distance to say that he understood Meghan Markle’s words in a completely different context. He doesn’t think that she was complaining or whining about the show itself, but that she simply saw herself accomplishing more.
“I think Meghan just said she wanted to do more. It wasn’t fulfilling for her.” – Howie Mandel told US Weekly.
This of course showed when she married a Prince… what more could you ask from life? And the way she managed to estrange him from his royal family and to make him move to the USA says even more about her abilities and potential. Finally, to make the jump from ‘feeling like a bimbo’ to being a legitimate Duchess is an enormous leap.
Meghan Markle appeared on the ‘Deal or No Deal’ show in 34 episodes. During her time on the show, she cashed more than $1 million, which is not a small amount. And most certainly much more than ‘bimbos’ are making. There are numerous critics of her claims, noticing that if she didn’t like how she felt, she could’ve left the show at any point. She didn’t have to do 34 episodes before leaving.
The Duchess of Sussex opened up about her time on the show in a recent episode of her Spotify podcast Archetypes. She said that in addition to feeling like ‘a piece of meat’, people ‘objectified’ her. She told her guest that the show is all about looks. That it’s ‘not about brains’ – the thing she wants people to value her about.
“The people in charge gave us spray-tan vouchers each week. Because there was a very cookie-cutter idea, of precisely what we should look like.” – Meghan said. “It was solely about our beauty.”
In addition to this, Meghan Markle claimed that the woman in charge even gave her remarks on her looks. She often told her to ‘suck it in’ referring to her stomach – all in order to look pretty on camera.
“There were times when I was on set at Deal or No Deal and thinking back to my time working as an intern at the US Embassy in Argentina, Buenos Aires. Being in the motorcade with the secretary of the treasury at the time and being valued specifically for my brain.” – Meghan Markle explained. “Here, they valued me for something quite the opposite. I ended up quitting the show. I was so much more than what was being objectified on the stage. And I didn’t like feeling forced to be all looks and little substance. That’s how it felt for me at the time, being reduced to this specific archetype, the word bimbo.”
Meghan Markle referred to the times as times when she was not valued for her qualities. That’s why she looked for another job. And since we speak about other jobs, we can mention the gig for the 90210 sitcom. Meghan landed it after she left the show. She starred in only one episode and the scene she filmed – giving a blowjob in a parking lot. How classy, isn’t it?
During her podcast episode, Meghan Markle adds that she would like people to value her daughter for her brain. She told her guest that she will do everything in her power to make Lilibet aspire high.
“I want our daughter to aspire to be slightly higher. Yeah, I want my Lili to want to educate herself. I want her to be smart and to pride herself on those things.”
All of the ‘briefcase girls’ from the show slammed Meghan Markle’s comments. They all came forward to deny Meghan Markle’s comments. Patricia Kara, now a 50-year-old woman told ‘Meghan Markle’s experience is strange’. She, and all of the other girls didn’t feel that way.
Seeing and hearing all these girls’ comments it is really strange that Howie Mandel defends her. What do you think? Who is to believe, Meghan Markle, or the other ‘briefcase girls’?
