Over time, Sister Wives’ patriarch Kody Brown has shown that he cares more for Robyn Brown’s children than his other kids, and now he is confirming it. Rather than be with his daughter, Ysabel during her spine surgery, he was busy officiating a friend’s wedding. Instead of traveling down to the college with her, he only got her a car. Fans are curious to know what’s behind his attitude toward his daughter.
In one of the TLC episode series, Ysabel was asked to describe her relationship with her father, she confirmed that she only shared a tight bond with her mother. She said, “I’m gonna miss my mom more than I’m gonna miss him, I think- because I don’t actually think we’re close at all.

But I mean, he’s still my dad.” Kody justified his action by claiming that he thinks Ysabel is shy and doesn’t communicate well with him. He said, “You know, anytime I spend time with Ysabel, I spend most of my time doing a lot of work to draw her out of herself. I don’t know what it is. I don’t think I’m that big an ogre. I don’t know why she’s not talking to me. I’m open to her.”
However, his answers don’t justify why he needs to be absent during Ysabel’s journey to college. A Redditor started a thread in other to set the record straight. They asked, “I might have missed this- but was it ever explained why Kody isn’t helping move Ysabel to college? Clearly, it’s nothing to do with covid (his usual excuse) as he’s just driven to officiate a wedding.”
Another Redditor answered, “He gave excuses such as not being able to be away from the smaller kids for any amount of time. This includes Sol and Ari. It does NOT include Truely who is only a year older than Sol, but whom Kody feels does not need him in her life at all.” He further said that his vacuum isn’t even felt by Truely. This act only shows that Kody would rather choose attention than his fatherly roles when it comes to his other kids.
