A Maryland couple was arrested after providing sensitive medical records involving U.S military workers to an FBI agent they thought worked with the Russian embassy. If it sounds messy that’s just because it is.
Military Couple Arrested After Selling Medical Information to FBI Agent Working as an Undercover Russian Embassy Employee
Dr. Anna Gabrielian (36) and Major Jamie Lee Henry (39) were both charged with one count of conspiracy. Originally, Henry was working with this “Russian embassy employee” and used their access at Fort Bragg to get favorable information.
Included was medical information about people with the Department of Defense, the Army, and the spouses of three veterans. At that time Gabrielian joined in. That embassy employee was actually someone working for the FBI.
However, Gabrielian was given two counts of wrongful disclosure of individually identifiable health information while Henry was hit with five counts.
Henry is a major and serves as a doctor in the U.S Army. Their wife, Gabrielian works as an anesthesiologist at Johns Hopkins. The two have been married since 2015.
Both were released on home detention and will be monitored. Dr. Gabrielian reportedly has a $500,000 unsecured bond. The couple faces a maximum of ten years of federal time on each count.
