Rocky Romero was the man who turned two promising young lions into one of the most accomplished junior heavyweight tag teams in NJPW history. Roppongi 3K is now a distant memory however, after SHO would turn on YOH to join BULLET CLUB. YOH has remained loyal to CHAOS, and tonight – will team with Romero to face SHO & Yujiro Takahashi in tag team action. This is the first time Romero has faced SHO since his shocking actions against YOH, and there’s some serious frustrations ready to be let out there.
Rocky Romero Tries To Get His Revenge On SHO
YOH & Romero would get the first strike in this match, attacking before the bell even rang. SHO would be kept in the ring by YOH, with Romero helping to trip up SHO before a running dropkick landed. Takahashi would be neutralised on the outside by Romero, while YOH nailed some hard strikes in the ring. YOH would get tripped up by Takahashi, before SHO would hit a PK off the apron to the chest of Romero.
SHO would attack the arm of YOH in the ropes, before Takahashi would set up the low single leg dropkick to the face for a one count. YOH would be isolated by BULLET CLUB – a position he knows well, but that ensured he refused to quit – blocking a kick from SHO before hitting a neckbreaker to open up a tag. Romero would get the tag and would finally get some offense in on SHO, hitting a running hurricanrana before a dropkick to the ribs for a two count.
Sliced Bread would be countered, before SHO hit a jumping knee strike to the jaw. YOH & Romero would come back with tandem jumping knee strikes. They’d look to hit the 3K, but SHO was able to block and hit a spear to Romero – and tagged in Takahashi. A massive lariat would turn Romero inside out, and a Fisherman Buster would almost get the win, but YOH made the save.
Lio Rush Joins CHAOS
Romero would set up the Forerver Lariats, hitting SHO & Takahashi in the corner before taking both down with a double lariat. Takahashi looked to use his cane as a weapon, but Romero avoided this and got a roll up. He’d be shoved off and into a wrench shot from SHO, allowing Takahashi to get the victory.
YOH would nearly take a wrench shot after the bell, but the lights would go out – and Lio Rush would make his NJPW return to make the save. He’d launch off some quick kicks, and hit the 3K with YOH. They’d lock eyes, and seemingly – they’re set to work as a tag team, perhaps a key team in the upcoming Jr. Tag League? Rush was away from NJPW for 11 months with a shoulder injury, but is looking better than ever.
