Last night at The Night Before Rumble On 44th Street, we’d see Eddie Kingston join forces with Jon Moxley, Kazuchika Okada, and more members of CHAOS and beyond to battle BULLET CLUB in a chaotic ten man elimination tag team match – with Kingston helping to eliminate White to win the match. Tonight, he gets another crack at the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, as he teams with the winner of the G1 Climax to take on Jay White & Juice Robinson. With two months before Wrestle Kingdom, there would be enough time for Kingston to slip in a title shot, provided he can pin or submit the champion here tonight, and throw a wrench in plans for Wrestle Kingdom.
Eddie Kingston Shows His Guts Early In Match
Kingston would be ready to start with White, asking to start with an exchange of chops. White would oblige, hitting his chop before being levelled with one from Kingston. Robinson would attack Kingston from behind, allowing White to take the advantage – forcing Kingston into a corner, before Kingston would chop his way free once again.
White asked for Okada, and Kingston would tag The Rainmaker in. Okada would hit some clubbing blows on White, before the scoop slam and rolling senton. White made the tag to Robinson, only for Okada to get the drop toehold into an elbow drop. Kingston got the tag and hit a double back elbow with Okada, before a chinlock on Robinson ended with Kingston tearing at the face of Robinson.
White would run the distraction from the floor, allowing Robinson to hit the chop block. Kingston would have his leg attacked, with Robinson applying a submission in the ring with White choking him with his boot. A snap Dragon Screw on the mat would keep the damage coming, with Kingston isolated in the BULLET CLUB corner.
Robinson would hold the arms of Kingston back as White came in with the chops, simply being fired up by the chops before White went after the eyes instead. Kingston would take a cannonball senton from Robinson, before the jumping senton was blocked with two knees to the spine. Okada was reaching for the tag, and would get it – picking up speed off the ropes before a hard back elbow – and following up with a DDT for a two count.
Kazuchika Okada Strikes The Pose
Money Clip would be applied in the middle of the ring, with Robinson able to fight free with an arm drag. Robinson shoved the referee at Okada, but missed the leg lariat. White tripped Okada, and he’d stumble into a DDT – before White tagged into the match. The Too Sweet Chops would land in the middle of the ring, before Bladebuster for a two count.
Sleeper Suplex was set, but Okada fought free with a back elbow smash. White would hit a chop to the chest of Okada, and would be sent across the ring with a shotgun dropkick in response. Okada would head to the top rope, and came down with an elbow drop. Rainmaker Pose was struck, before White ran into a dropkick from Okada.
Kingston would hit the ring after a tag with some exploder suplexes, still having issues with his knee from the earlier attack. White would go after the eyes again, as Robinson hit a Spinebuster on Okada. Kingston avoided the Left Hand Of God from Robinson, and ran both members of BULLET CLUB down with a double lariat.
Never Bet Against Jay White
White & Kingston would trade blows in the middle of the ring, with Robinson coming in and being chopped down in the middle of it. Okada & Kingston would ping pong White with chops and forearms, before White fought free and hit two Sleeper Suplexes.
Blade Runner would be blocked by Kingston, who hit a Backdrop Driver. Robinson would look for Pulp Friction and taking a backdrop instead. White & Robinson would keep Kingston grounded using Chop Blocks, but he’d keep on fighting while Okada recovered. Kingston blocked a low blow and hit the Backfist to The Future, only for White to hit a low blow.
Robinson would hold Okada in place – as White hit Blade Runner for the finish. Kingston was pinned right on the Lion Mark, showing him exactly who’s companies ring he stepped into. White doesn’t end up with another title defence, and just got a win over Okada ahead of January 4th.
