Both Tomohiro Ishii & SANADA have reasons to be let down with how their tournaments have gone. The dominance of Jay White in B-Block has ensured that they were eliminated early, and tonight on the final night of block action, they are just battling for pride. Ishii has put his future in the G1 Climax in doubt, claiming that maybe he’s not cut out for the tournament anymore – and a SANADA win tonight could see an open slot in the G1 Climax 33 where Ishii would normally be.

Tomohiro Ishii Came Into This Match With Something To Prove

Ishii would avoid the grappling attempts from SANADA as this match began, before nearly being caught with a flash pinfall. He’d nail the backdrop driver, back driving SANADA into the corner with some deadly forearm smashes. SANADA was rocked, and Ishii would bark at him before absorbing some forearm smashes and hitting a headbutt.

Ishii took this one to the floor, before looking for the suplex – with SANADA able to counter. SANADA sent Ishii into the ring, and nailed the springboard dropkick for a two count. Ishii would set up a lariat into the corner but found a back elbow – before being dropped with a backdrop. SANADA would take a German Suplex in response.

Sliding Lariat would be avoided, and SANADA would pull Ishii to the ropes for the Dragon Whip Neckbreaker. TKO would follow, but Ishii was able to kick out. Skull End would be applied, and Ishii would be lulled so SANADA could attempt the moonsault. Ishii would dodge, before taking a rolling elbow and coming back with the enziguri.

Sliding lariat would be caught into a pinfall by SANADA, before Ishii would block the Tiger Suplex. SANADA went into a Dragon Sleeper, and Ishii broke free for a headbutt. O’Connor Roll would nearly get Ishii down, but he’d remain in the fight. Tiger Suplex saw Ishii roll to this feet, and a dropkick sent him off the ropes and into a lariat. Vertical Drop Brainbuster landed, and Ishii gets the win – perhaps restoring some confidence in his ability to remain in future tournaments.

Tama Tonga Finally Gets His Hands On Jay White

The moment when Jay White booted Tama Tonga from BULLET CLUB, he might have decided his own fate. Maybe he thought that no one on the NJPW roster would stand with Tama, that he’d force him to travel alone and be an outcast – after years of Tama wrecking havoc as part of BULLET CLUB. Instead, Tama has been able to find new friends, purpose, and a whole lot of fan support. Tonight, he gets his hands on White in singles action – in a match that decides who wins B-Block. White wins with a draw, while Tama needs to finish this within 30 minutes – or loses his chance at the semi-finals.

Tama would nail a dropkick to start this match, before stomping away at White. Some heavy forearm smashes in the corner would follow, before Tama would send White flying with a back body drop. This one would spill to the outside, and Tama was shoved face first off the corner post. White would follow up with a suplex, dropping Tama face first onto the apron. Back in the ring, Backdrop Driver would land and give White some control- but Tama would fight back to his feet for the big lariat.

Body slam in the middle of the ring would follow, before White would fight free of the Tongan Twist. White would nail the DDT – before hitting a running uppercut into the corner. Blade Buster would land, but Tama kicked out at two. Tama would fire up and walk right into a Complete Shot, before the snap German Suplex.

    It Just Takes One GunStun

Knees to the midsection would follow, before Tama was able to hit the Headshrinker. Death Valley Bomb would land, before Supreme Flow got a two count. Gun Stun was set, but White blocked and hit the Uranage. Tama was driven into the corner with some shoulder tackles, but fought back with the Bloody Sunday!

White would kick out, and blocked the Gunstun. Sleep Suplex and Blade Runner would normally follow, but Tama was relentless and hit the GunStun for the win! He wins the B-Block, and White doesn’t get that perfect sweep!
