Harry Potter star Tom Felton opened up on his close bond with Daniel Radcliffe.
Tom Felton Praises His Harry Potter Co-Star Daniel Radcliffe
The duo played adversaries in the Harry Potter franchise, as Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter respectively. While that may have been the case, outside of the movie screen, Tom had a massive amount of respect for the star.
This is entirely understandable since they both worked as childhood actors on one of the biggest movies in the world. But it was also the different nuances that Tom picked up from Daniel’s acting that stayed with him too.
In an interview with CBS News, Felton said: “I love the man very dearly. I don’t see him as much as I’d like to—that’s the same for most of us, really. But I consider him my brother definitely.”
This is quite understandable when we look at their respective career parts following the films. Daniel has arguably been the much bigger name having started in many hit movies following the Potter franchise, such as ‘Swiss Army Man.’
In addition, they have both been through their own personal troubles. The duo have had their issues with substances, something which did threaten to derail their careers at one point. And yet, when it came to their characters, there were not many parallels.
Tom admitted that the two wizards could not have been any different. His following comments confirmed as much: “You have one boy who has no parents, no money, no status but he has everything that is good with the world.
“He has love, and compassion, and friends and truth and honesty. And then the other side is the slightly darker one where very powerful parents.”
Friendships like this always raises the possibility of whether there could ever be a sequel to the Harry Potter franchise. But if there is any chance of it happening, then all the co-stars would have to be on good terms.
With that being said, Tom and Daniel’s friendship is welcomed. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
